FINISHED QUILT

                       Yea! I just finished my quilt.
  It is a 12x12 in. quilt. I put a single fold bias binding on this quilt. I've never used a single fold bias binding on any of my small quilts before . I was having problems with the binding not laying flat enough and it was hard to sew so I started looking for another way to get a better looking edge on my quilts. I finally found one on you tube and decided to try it on this quilt.
    I was very happy with the result. It was easy to do and my mitered corner looks much better. I'm going to use this technique for all of my future quilts.
  I used a cotton fabric that matched some of the color on the inside of the quilt. the fabric was just the right color of fabric . Not to dark and not to light. Perfect shade.
    I'm going to put together a small book and I think I will use this quilt for the cover. Here is a pic of  the finished quilt.
   I will be donating this quilt to the Studio Art Quilt Association.

     I will be starting another quilt and I was asked to make a few more of my Camo Bags for the local shop here in my town.

                            Finished Quilt Top
  I finished the quilt top today and after it is trimmed to a 12 in. x 12in. sq. I will add the binding,  a small hanging sleeve and  a label to the back of the quilt.
    The first photo is a close up of   the yarn vine and  painted tree I added to the quilt. The next two photos are close up photos of the finished tree that I added leaves and flowers to. I put French Knots in the center of  each flower on the tree.    
   The flowers are silk . I got them  from sprays of flowers I bought at  Joann's Fabrics. I find they make the perfect size flowers for my small quilts.
  I haven't decided on a border fabric yet so I will be picking that out today . I like to add  a hanging sleeve for the back of the quilt so a dowel can be inserted .
   I'm donating this quilt to SAQA for an benefit auction. It is payment for my yearly membership fee.

                      
       Ive fiannally

  ive finally  I've finally got a chance to get back to work on my quilt.
 It took several days  to get all my fabric chosen for each  part of the quilt. I got all the pattern pieces cut and fused to fusible web and I've started placing all the fabric pattern pieces in place  on my background fabric and getting  ready to be iron them in place.  
        when I place my pieces of cut fabric on the background I use cellophane that I've draw my original black line design on, using a Sharpie felt tip pen, as a guide to help me get each small piece in place. I will continue doing this step until all the pieces are in place.

                                NEW NEWS
  I will be doing landscapes quilts from now on on my blog because even though I like making the bowls, dolls and other items I have been posting about  these last few months I have really missed making my first love which are the landscape quilts I first started making when I started my blog.
   I have several quilt designs drawn out and ready to be turned into quilts.
   I will be making smaller quilts because now that I'm older I can lift larger quilts like I used to. I still want to do the detail work I've always enjoyed doing in the past
    The first quilt I will be working on is a 12x12 in. mini quilt . I will be donating it to SAQA.( Studio Arts Quilt Association ) for an upcoming auction they will be having to raise funds for their organization .
   I want to support this organization because of all they do to help artist. It is a wonderful organization.
  I will keep ya'll updated about when the auction will take place. I would like to invite all of you to take a look at the small quilts that will be offered during the auction. You may find that treasure that call your name.

   I'm going to call this first  quilt " The Temple" for now during its construction and I may change the name when I'm finished making it.
