update on quilt progress

I had a pretty good day and was able to get a little more work done on my quilt. I was able to cut the fabric for the hills in the middle of the quilt. I cut greem fabric to simulate plants and I cut some curtain fabric to simulate rocks. I will have to glue every thing in place tomorrow. I may have to hand stitch some of the elements in place instead of gluing. I have found that some fabrics don't interact well with fabric glue and even though the glue dries clear it leaves a shiny spot on top which I don't care for and it is hard to sew through. I am also adding handmade moss that I make from yarn to the succulant plants under the tree. I'm getting close to the point where I can start doing my surface stitching , which is one of my favorite things to do when making my quilts. The other thing I like is the beading which I do close to the last step in making the quilt.
I will also start to work on the leaves for the tree tomorrow maybe:). I don't know how I will make the leaves yet I am still waiting for a dream or my muse to tell me.

Goodness! I am awed by all the work you are putting into the details of this piece. It truly looks like a 3 dimensional painting! Quite an accomplishment, Barbara.
