Painted Fabric for the Sky

These are pictures of the fabric I hand-dyed today. I will use it on the new quilt I have been demonstrating. Tomorrow I will show where and how I will be using it on the quilt. It was made by painting my leftover Pebeo Setacolor fabric paint from a past project onto cotton fabric, then sprinkling rock salt on the wet fabric. Then I let it dry. I brushed the salt off and heat-set the paint with an iron. Now it can be cut and used for my quilt.
