Here you can see the area where I have removed the section of fabric behind the sky fabric. Now I have essentially one piece of fabric to work with.  I will flip this piece of fabric over and be able to start working on the front of the quilt.
 The next thing I need to do is paint some fabric that I will use to make small brick shapes from that will be used to go around the outside edge of this moongate opening. I want to have lighter colored fabric for the brick shapes around the opening.
